Hi, I'm Grant
An Industrial Design Student with Professional Experience
professional work
I work as a freelance industrial designer for companies like Compass Display Group. My responsibilities include taking a design brief from a client and creating CAD models and renders of different ideas I create to present to the client. I then often have to create engineering drawings so that it can be manufactured.

Volare
This project is an exploration of the things people carry with them every day. I was challenged with identifying an object that a person carries with them and redesigning it in a way that meets the user’s needs. Much of the time in this project was spent doing in-depth research on the specific object that I chose, headphones. Not only are these headphones designed for the specific persona I created, but they are designed in a way that allows for them to be used by anyone.
SOLEMATE
Each year, the Industrial Design program puts on a competition for the second through fourth year students. This is a team project, and in 2024, we were challenged with creating a wearable object. Our group came up with the idea of making a pair of shoes that have a sole that can be replaced rather than replacing an entire shoe. For my contribution to the project, I fully modeled our shoe in Blender and created all the renders for the team.

PUTT-g
The current manufacturing method for producing a putter is to mill the head of the putter out of one block of steel. Since this is expensive, I decided to explore a better way to do this. My solution is to create a 3D printed putter head using PET-G plastic. The head is filled with steel balls and epoxy to give a similar weight to a normal putter.
