For the competition, we were assigned groups and given one week to design and prototype a wearable that would improve the life of its users.
Replaceable Soles
Solemate is a running shoe designed to have a removeable sole. Instead of runners having to buy a new pair of shoes every few months, with the Solemate, you can simply buy a replacement sole rather than the whole shoe.
Judging
For the competition, we had to do a "fashion show" to demonstrate our wearable product. Below is an image of me demonstrating the functionality of Solemate. Additionally, each team created a poster and stood by it while the judges walked around and asked questions to the team about their design. After the first round of judging, they narrowed it down to a few teams and did a sound round of interviews. Afterwards, they announced winners and honorable mentions, and our team was selected as an
honorable mention.
